We know legal documents can be dense. Here’s the essence of what you’re agreeing to:
- Our content is for informational purposes. We provide gardening advice based on research and experience, but we can’t guarantee specific results in your unique environment.
- You may not copy our content. Our guides, images, and materials are protected by copyright. Please don’t republish them without permission.
- Be respectful. If you comment or interact with our community, keep it constructive and kind.
- We use affiliate links. We earn commissions on some products we recommend, at no extra cost to you. Full details in our Affiliate Disclosure.
- We’re not liable for your plant outcomes. We provide guidance, but gardening involves variables beyond our control.

Important: Gardening at Home provides information for educational and informational purposes only. Our content is not a substitute for professional horticultural, agricultural, or medical advice.
6.1 No Guarantee of Results
Gardening outcomes depend on numerous variables including but not limited to climate, soil conditions, water quality, light exposure, pest pressure, and individual plant genetics. While we strive to provide accurate, research-backed guidance, we cannot and do not guarantee specific results from following our advice.
6.2 “As Is” Basis
THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT THEREIN ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

- Warranties that any errors or defects in the Service will be corrected
- Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or timeliness of content
6.3 Plant Safety and Toxicity
Many common houseplants are toxic to humans and pets if ingested. While we may mention toxicity concerns in our guides, we do not provide comprehensive toxicity information for every plant species. Always research plant safety independently before bringing plants into homes with children, pets, or individuals with plant allergies.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Gardening at Home, its owners, employees, contributors, affiliates, and partners shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to:

- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
- Third-party content, products, or services accessed through links on the Service
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. In no event shall our total liability to you exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) for access to the Service during the twelve months preceding the claim.
8. Third-Party Links & Services
The Service contains links to third-party websites, products, and services that are not owned or controlled by Gardening at Home. These links are provided for your convenience and reference only.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification — shall survive.
11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
11.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Oregon for the resolution of any disputes.

We believe most disputes can be resolved through direct communication. Before initiating any formal legal action, you agree to contact us at legal@gardeningathome.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
11.3 Arbitration
Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Arbitration shall take place in Portland, Oregon. You agree to waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
11.4 Limitation on Claims
Any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to your use of the Service must be filed within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action arose, regardless of any statute or law to the contrary. Failure to file within this period constitutes a permanent bar to the claim.
